We are delighted to announce that the Magnolia Project has entered a partnership with Books in Homes®. Books in Homes® is a charitable foundation that provides books of choice to children living in remote, disadvantaged, and low socio-economic circumstances. They ensure crucial early literacy engagement and the development of reading skills needed for lifelong achievement. For more information, please visit www.booksinhomes.com.au
The Books in Homes® program strives to overcome the inequality of educational opportunities in communities where families have limited, or no access to books and resources are often scarce. In doing so, the program contributes to helping overcome generational poverty. It does so by enhancing the chances of success in early education, which opens up options, choices and potential in later life. Since 2001, Books in Homes® has distributed over 2.8 million new books to children throughout Australian schools and communities. Books in Homes® Australia’s vision is to create an Australia where every child and family can access books in the home.
Books in Homes® will supply books to the Magnolia Book Project from donations received outside their curated program. These books will be distributed to people in prison. Books in Homes® will also advertise the Magnolia Project on their website and ezine. We are very grateful for their support and are looking forward to developing a very successful partnership.
